Today I started to feel a little blue, Its winter and I am not as busy as I would like to be right now.. but tonight I participated in the Downtown Vermillion group of business owners meeting which was held at the Chamber. I met a lot of really nice business owners that i hadn't met before and really enjoyed that they all come together to make Vermillion a better place for those who live , work, shop,vacation/visit and those that gather for fun times.
I am excited to be apart of this group now and i am looking forward to all the great ideas! I Can't encourage you all enough to shop with a small business owner next time you need something rather than go to a big box chain store.
One thing about these small businesses is that you can put a face, a name, a family, a friend to them, you can get to know them, talk to them and support them and their families....even become friends :)
When I walk into walmart there is not a single face to the business, and my money is most likely going to support someone in china (walmart moved over sea's) not right here in my own neighborhood.
I personally love that when i go into a small business I know i am supporting a local neighbor to support their families and help keep them in business and those they employ.... Please make a point to stop into one small business this week and spend $5 it will make a difference! :)
Thank you to all of you that support me and my small business! with out you I wouldn't be able to do what i love to do and support my family at the same time!
So tonight instead of feeling blue, I feel blessed :)
